Where Black Queens, NY Builds Together.
BlaQue Community Cares is a Queens-based organization focused on strengthening Black communities through long-term, coordinated work. We design and manage programs that support families, stabilize local ecosystems, and build shared infrastructure that communities can rely on over time.
BCC grew out of years of organizing through the BlaQue Resource Network. What became clear was not a lack of ideas, culture, or participation, but a lack of structure to sustain community-led work. BlaQue Community Cares exists to hold that responsibility. Our programs center coordination, access, and continuity across economic stability, family support, and community-rooted storytelling and gathering. We translate lived experience into partnerships and outcomes designed to last in Queens.

What We Do
Our Approach
Our work is rooted in coordinated, place-based programming across Queens. We convene people through gatherings, programs, and shared spaces that strengthen relationships, support families, and build trust across the community. By aligning resources, partners, and local knowledge, we focus on sustained capacity rather than one-off activity. The goal is simple. Create systems that help Black communities in Queens stay connected, supported, and resourced over time.
Community Events
Our first step is to host a variety of events that bring together Black communities to foster connections, share knowledge, and celebrate achievements.
Resource Sharing
We create space for people to share knowledge, tools, and networks that support collective growth.
Educational Opportunities
We provide educational workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs to equip the Black community in Queens, NY with the skills and resources needed to thrive.
Voices of Empowerment

I came to a community gathering and couldn’t believe how many people showed up. Seeing a local spot that full made me realize how much collective turnout can really shift outcomes.

I've been a teacher for 35 years. When they honored me at the Educators Brunch, it sat with me. I’m always focused on the work, not the attention, so being recognized like that meant more than I expected. Thank you BlaQue.

Since BlaQue came around, I’ve noticed people connecting again. Folks are talking, meeting up, supporting the spots around here. We needed this.
